Streets and community

Your server is a neighbourhood. These are the parts of Wordlord you play with (and against) everyone else.

Streets

Words come in themed streets of 4โ€“8 plots: Chai Street (chai, samosa, pakora...), Monsoon Lane, Exam Hall Road, Cricket Ground and about 30 more. Own every word on a street and you pay 30% less tax on all of them. /streets shows the streets you're on; /street chai shows who owns each plot. Admins can add one street of their own server's words with /setup street.

Completing a street usually means buying a plot from someone, which is what the market is for.

Coinage

Invent a word. /coin word registers brand-new slang (not in any dictionary) for 50 coins, and you hold the find on it. Once 5 different people have used it on 3 different days, it becomes a Coined Word: the deed is yours, and your name sits next to it in the server's /lexicon for good. At every new season you get first find on it again. You can coin 3 words a season.

Rent strikes

One landlord owns half the server? Organise. If you paid someone rent this week, /strike @landlord signs a petition for 10 coins. When 5 tenants sign within a day, that landlord's rent is halved for 24 hours. Each player can sign one strike a week.

Town projects

Each server builds a list of projects together. /project shows the current one, and /donate coins funds it (up to 500 at a time, more in rich servers). Donations are burned. Every finished project earns the server a badge, shown on /project and the server's dashboard page. After the last one the town keeps raising monuments, so there's always something to build.

The luxury shop

For landlords with more coins than sense. /luxury opens the shop and /splurge buys. Nothing in it helps you win: it only shows everyone that you could. Every coin spent is burned, which keeps busy servers from drowning in money without taxing anyone's savings.

Prices follow the money

Each server has a price index. It is the average wallet of its 10 richest players (active in the last 7 days) divided by 2,000, never below 1 and at most 25, and it moves at most 5% a day. Luxuries, the daily auction's opening bid, the biggest donation and each new town project cost that many times base. Word prices, takeovers and the Land Rush don't follow it, so someone joining a rich server pays what everyone else paid. In most servers the index stays at 1.

Estate rank

Your lifetime rent collected earns you a rank. It never resets and gives no advantage, just bragging rights.
