Fair play
A game about money attracts farmers. These rules make spam, bots and alt accounts a waste of time, while normal conversation pays well.
Global servers
Any server can play, but only global servers count for the global leaderboards and pay coins into your main wallet. A server becomes global by being a real, active community: enough distinct active people with established accounts, day after day. A server has to keep it up to stay global.
In a server that isn't global yet, everything works the same, but the coins you earn there are locked to that server until it qualifies. This makes a private server full of alts useless for farming.
Global status is switching on in an upcoming update. Until then every server is local and coins you earn are locked to the server you earned them in.
Who counts
- Bots never pay rent and can't play.
- Discord accounts younger than 90 days don't pay rent or get starting coins.
- Saying your own word earns nothing.
Limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Rent per person per word | Once every 1 hour |
| Words paying rent per message | 3 |
| Same person paying you, per day | Full, then half, then a quarter, then nothing |
| Rent soft cap per server per day | 300 coins or 8% of the budget, then 25% |
| Server payout budget | About 50 coins per active person per day, plus 10 per hour they chat (up to 8) |
| Claims | 5 a minute, 50 a day |
| Open finds | 30 per server |
| Words owned | 25 per server |
| Takeovers | 3 a day, after 7+ days in the server and 3+ active days |
Words that can't be owned
- Very common words belong to everyone.
- Slurs and NSFW words are blocked everywhere.
- Server admins can block more words with
/setup block.
Being nice
Wordlord teases the situation, never the person. If you see a server farming coins, or a word being used to harass someone, tell the server's admins. Servers caught faking activity lose global status and their coins can be reset.
